Where there is a will, there is a way.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY
- BY: ROHIT

The famous saying, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’ emphasizes the strong Will-power, desire and determination. It is our hard work, enthusiasm, will or determination that brings success in our life. This is applicable in all walks of life and to everyone from students to professionals.

A person with strong Will-power can make his way even in thorns because he has energy and confidence to achieve his goals as in the story The Thirsty Crow in which the crow found the jug of water. Even the water level is too low, he succeded in drinking the water because of his Will-power. The concept of way in life also depends on our Will-power. Because as one wills or desires, he gets, not necessarily immediately. Humans have many wills. As one fulfilled, other takes birth in our mind. It is considered as the greatest driving force behind what we achieved in our life. It pushes the person  and their limits to get extraordinary results of their activities.

Moreover, our life is full of struggle at every step. It is our Will-power that encourages us to face all difficulties on the way to success with an optimistic attitude, determination and calmness. Many great people had struggled hard despite their limitations and got success. Such as Beethoven was a deaf yet he was famous. (for composer of music). Similarly Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller, Christy Brown, Mahatma Gandhi etc are the memorable personalities and an inspiration for us.

It is our determination and storng Will-power that helps us to find the way. We become more focused towards our goals in order to achieve them. This persuades us to take risks at any costs in order to  achieve our goals successfully. After that we strategize our daily routine or activities. We should be determined towards our goals without bringing any alteration in them. Once a goal is achieved, only then move on to another goal. Remember the words of lord Krishna, “If you fail to achieve your goal, change the strategy not the goal”.

Thus, this age-old adage is a powerful reminder of our potential and the ability to overcome obstacles. With this idea we can attain anything in our life. We should take every difficulty as an opportunity for development. After all, person who loses his heart never achieve his goals in life.

Joint family—a Godsend for Growing Children [Class VII, Term I, 2017-18 davunit8.org]

Honourable Principal, respected Teachers and My Dear Friends, Today I would like to draw your kind attention towards ‘Joint Family—A Godsend for Growing Children’.

Do anyone of you have heard from your Granny or mother that they used to live in big houses with a huge family of aunts, uncles, their children, grandma and grandpa? They used to do everything together. It was so much fun. But now urbanisation and nuclear families are gaining popularity. Because of this children of today are missing on the traditional practices of a joint family. A family plays an important role in framing the personality of a child. It is probably the most effective social support unit providing a secure and safe atmosphere for the child. Our values and attitudes are shaped by our families and these are the values that leave a lasting impression on children.

Children in the joint family get the opportunity to enjoy and cherish the love and affection of loved ones around. Children who live in a joint family lead a sheltered life surrounded by their elders. They learn the importance of sharing, being patient, and simultaneously, their lives get enriched while living in a joint family. As the child gets to share the things with his cousins he grows into a person who learns to live with people around. This way the child grows to be more sensitive and well-balanced.

The security of the child is also ensured. The child is nurtured with the love and affection of the grandparents and not the unruly maid-servants. But, in a joint family the parents should make it sure that they should spend quality time with their children.

Thank you.

• stringent wild life act
• eco-friendly attitude of people [HY 2023, davcsp.org]

Honourable judges, respected teachers and dear friends! Good morning! I am here to speak on the topic “Man is the worst enemy of his fellow creatures”.

No animal kills others unless it is hungry. No animal destroys the habitat of any other animal. Population is increasing day by day with no leaps and bounds. Consequently, needs and requirements also rising. It is the only man who kills the other animals for fulfilling his own needs. Due to rapid industrialisation and urbanization, man has started destroying nature. Trafficking of exotic wildlife, unethical poaching have become very common practice. Many creatures fall a prey to his needs for medicines, fur, nail polish etc. He does not spare even Mother Nature. Wild life and rare species are at the verge of extinction.

It is the commercial attitude of people which is responsible for deforestation, results in natural disasters such as earthquakes; floods; land sliding; tsunami, global warming,  ecological imbalances and so on. Sea level is continuously increasing day by day. Cyclones is also occurring causing heavy rain, strong and dusty winds, tornadoes. To say, it is the only man who is responsible for ecological disaster.

It is high time. It is the need of hour a stringent wildlife act should be enacted by the Indian Government. We should stop poaching, which is an unlawful activity and wild lives should be protected. Besides, eco friendly attitude should be adopted by us/ people.

Thank you.

1) Good Morning everybody.

My name is Arjun and today I would like to speak on the topic Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day marks the celebration of affection and thankfulness for mothers all over the globe. Mother’s Day is said to have originated in European countries mainly UK, Greece and Rome. It usually falls in the months of March, April or May. Anna Jarvis is known as the founder of this day.

The day as we celebrate today falls on the second Sunday of May every year. On this occasion, people especially children give gifts, cards, chocolates and flowers to their mothers to show their love and gratitude towards them. It is important to celebrate it as one gets a chance to make the mothers special and important on this day.

Thank you!   [Key]

2) Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, we are gathered here to celebrate a very special day - Mother's Day. This day is dedicated to expressing our affection and gratitude for the most important women in our lives - our mothers. As we all know, mothers play an invaluable role in our lives, and it is only fitting that we take a day to honor and appreciate them.

The tradition of Mother's Day is not a recent phenomenon. It has deep roots in history and has been celebrated in various forms across different cultures. In fact, the concept of honoring mothers can be traced back to ancient civilizations like Greece and Rome. These ancient societies would organize festivals to pay tribute to their maternal deities, and show gratitude for the countless sacrifices made by mothers.

Fast forward to modern times, Mother's Day has become a global celebration in many countries, thanks to the efforts of a remarkable woman named Anna Jarvis. Anna Jarvis, an American social activist, is often referred to as the "Mother of Mother's Day". She campaigned tirelessly to establish a day dedicated solely to mothers. Her relentless efforts paid off, and in 1914, Mother's Day was officially recognized as a national holiday in the United States.

People all over the world celebrate Mother's Day in their own unique ways. Some choose to give gifts, cards, chocolates, or flowers to their mothers as a token of their love and appreciation. Others organize special meals or outings to create lasting memories. No matter how we choose to celebrate, the essence of this day remains the same - expressing gratitude and making our mothers feel special and important.

But why is Mother's Day so important? Why do we set aside an entire day to celebrate our mothers? Well, the answer is simple. Mothers are the epitome of love, sacrifice, and selflessness. They devote their entire lives to us, nurturing, guiding, and loving us unconditionally. They are the ones who put our needs before their own and make countless sacrifices to ensure our happiness and well-being. Mother's Day is a chance for us to acknowledge these efforts and honor the incredible women who have shaped our lives.

Today, let us take a moment to reflect on the love, support, and guidance our mothers have provided us with. Let us express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all the sacrifices they have made. Whether it's through a simple "Thank you" or a heartfelt gift, let us make every effort to make our mothers feel cherished and loved.

In conclusion, Mother's Day is a beautiful occasion that enables us to express our affection and gratitude for the remarkable women in our lives. It is a day to honor the unconditional love and sacrifices of our mothers. So, on this special day, I urge each one of you to take the time to appreciate and celebrate your mother. Let us show them how much they mean to us, not just today, but every day of the year.

Thank you.

3) Ladies and Gentlemen, Today, we have gathered here to celebrate Mother’s Day, a day dedicated to showing our affection and gratitude for the most important person in our lives – our mothers.

Mother’s Day is celebrated in various countries around the world, usually in March, April, or May, with the modern-day Mother’s Day being celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This day allows us to express our love and appreciation for our mothers, who have sacrificed so much for us and have been our pillars of strength throughout our lives. The concept of Mother’s Day can be traced back to ancient times in Europe, with the Greeks and Romans celebrating maternal goddesses. In the United Kingdom, Mothering Sunday was observed as a day for children to visit their mothers and bring them gifts.

However, it was Anna Jarvis, an American activist, who popularized the modern-day Mother’s Day in the early 20th century. She campaigned for the day to be a national holiday in honor of her own mother, who had worked tirelessly to improve sanitation during the Civil War. On Mother’s Day, people show their love and appreciation for their mothers by giving them gifts, cards, chocolates, and flowers. These simple gestures allow us to express our gratitude and make our mothers feel special and important. It is a day for us to pamper and shower our mothers with the love and care that they have always given to us selflessly.

Mother’s Day is important because it gives us an opportunity to recognize the love, sacrifices, and dedication of our mothers. It is a day for us to express our gratitude for everything they have done for us and to make them feel appreciated and cherished. It is a day to reflect on the incredible role that mothers play in our lives and to honor them for their unwavering support and love.

In conclusion, Mother’s Day is a time for us to celebrate and cherish our mothers and all that they have done for us. It is a day to express our love and gratitude and to make our mothers feel truly special. So, let us all take this opportunity to thank our mothers and show them just how much they mean to us. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there! Thank you for everything.

The roots of this beautiful tradition can be traced back to Europe, including the UK, Greece and Rome. However, it was Anna Jarvis who popularized the modern-day Mother’s Day as we know it today. People celebrate this day by giving gifts, cards, chocolates and flowers to their mothers, a simple yet profound gesture to express their love and gratitude.

But why is Mother's Day so important? It is a day when we can make our mothers feel special and appreciated for the endless love and sacrifices they have made for us. It's a day to remind them of the unique place they hold in our hearts, a day to honor the unsung heroes who shape our lives with their boundless affection and care.

So, let's not wait for Mothers Day to show our appreciation, but everyday, let's acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary women who brought us into this world. After all, they are the one's who make our world a better place.

Thank you.

INTRODUCTION OF CUET
By: Arjun

Change is the law of nature. With the passage of time, innovations are constantly taking place in each and every field of the society. And the introduction of CUET is the recent dimension in the field of education. It is modified version of CUCET, began in 2010. It is introduced by the Ministry of Education for admission to pursue undergraduate and post graduate courses in reputed colleges and universities.

To start with, there are so many benefits of CUET. It is now considered as a common platform for admission to central universities. To say is, it is accepted by various universities across the country. It allows the meritorious students to take admission to the course and college or university of their choice or preference. Besides, giving an opportunity to meritorious students, it provides an equal opportunity to all the students to prove their abilities and secure a seat to their desired university based on their exam scores. This also led to the dependency on board exams. It has reduced the burden and stress of students of other multiple entrance examinations too and suicide cases among students.

Moreover, It has smoothened the admission process with one exam and website in various programs and universities. CUET has helped overhaul the entire admissions process for UG and PG admission to central, state, and private universities. It has streamlined the admission process with just one exam and one website for admission to many universities and programs. Ranks, marks and percentiles are shown with transperancy. It also provides the standardized evaluation system, ensuring a fair and logical assessment of student's academic abilities. By conducting nationwide exam, CUET opens doors for students from diverse backgrounds and regions, and provide a pool of talented individuals to universities.

Overall, It is now considered as the crucial part of one’s academic journey.

CUET
By: Anjali

As a student preparing for undergraduate admissions, I believe that the introduction of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) by the University Grants Commission (UGC) is a welcome move. CUET will streamline the admission process, reducing the burden on students who previously had to appear for multiple entrance exams.

This standardized test will ensure a fair and transparent selection process based on merit, rather than relying solely on board exam scores. It will also provide an equal opportunity for all students, regardless of their background or the board they have studied under.

CUET will not only simplify the admission process but also help in assessing a student's aptitude and knowledge in a uniform manner. This will ultimately benefit the students by enabling them to secure admissions to universities based on their overall performance rather than just their board exam scores.

In conclusion, the introduction of CUET is a step in the right direction towards creating a more inclusive and merit-based admission system for undergraduate programmes.

The benefits for students of being taken out of the classroom are manifold. (School trips and visits are significant to us in many ways.) It brings a cheerful smile on their faces.  Q. Using verbal hints given below about 'SUMMER SEASON'. Write an article in 120-150 words on the topic, "JOYS AND HARDSHIPS OF SUMMER". [Class IX study material 2019-20]

JOYS AND HARDSHIPS OF SUMMER SEASON
— By: Mohan

Change is the law of nature. Passing through a particular weather pattern in India, summer season is the hottest of all seasons. The summer starts from the may and continues till September. However, it is mainly of two months duration. Like every season, summer season has its own joys and hardships.

School children eagerly wait for the summers due to their Vacations of long span. For them, it is a time of enjoyment and fun with friends and families. People plan their trips to water spots such as beaches, water parks, falls, etc which is the main source of entertainment during summer season that makes them relax and they get a break from their monotonous life. During summers, weekends are like fresh breeze for us.

During summers, coolers and A.C. become a necessity for the people, which makes their environment cool and people love to enjoy such an artificial climate. They love to have cold etables and drinks such as ice creams, cold drinks, shakes etc. which makes them fresh, relax and feel heatless for a moment. Everyone enjoy such a pleasant moments during summers.

But every coin has two sides. During summers, the sun rays fall directly on the earth's surface, which makes the entire earth boiling. The sun gets very hot during the day and such heat strokes or scorching heat becomes very troublesome for us. People cannot come out of their homes and children cannot enjoy outside. They have to be in a cage. Childrens use electronic gadgets at home to freshen up, which has an adverse effect on them. Most of work remain suspended. Moreover, they do not feel energetic and a sort of dullness comes (appears) on them. In other words, summer causes many inconvenience as the hot winds cause much thirst and people cannot get water and as a result it causes drought in few parts of a country. Rivers and ponds dry up causing scarcity of water. Similarly, flora and fauna suffers too. Many die as a result of such sun stroke. People also get affected by many fatal diseases such as cholera, small pox etc. in the summer season. Such sort of problems can also be arises due to unbalanced ecosystem, use of heavy vehicles etc. as these create humidity and affects our cycle causing this season so hot.

So, we should come forward to protect our environment which in returns protects global warming and ourselves.
