Growing distance in relations in world

 Q. You are Mansi/Manas. Many of your friends flaunt latest gadgets gifted by their parents on their birthdays or various other occasions. On asking further you come to know that they hardly spend any quality time together. Write an article in 150-200 words for your school magazine regarding the growing distance in relations in this modern world.

The Glitch in our Connections
By Mansi/Manas

Our world is increasingly adorned with the latest gadgets. Birthdays and celebrations often involve the unveiling of a new phone, a sleek laptop, or the trendiest smart watch. While these devices are undoubtedly useful, I’ve noticed a concerning trend. Many of my friends, while thrilled with their new acquisitions, admit to spending less and less time with their families. The shiny new gadget becomes a substitute for shared experiences, conversations, and genuine connection.

It’s as if the digital world is creating a growing distance in our real-life relationships. Families are physically present, yet mentally miles apart, engrossed in their individual screens. Dinner tables are silent, replaced by the glow of phones. Weekends are spent indoors, glued to games or social media, instead of creating lasting memories together.

This isn’t a condemnation of technology. Rather, it’s a plea for balance. Let’s not allow gadgets to replace the warmth of human interaction. Let’s prioritize quality time with loved ones, fostering deeper connections and cherishing the moments that truly matter. Let’s remember that the best gifts aren’t material possessions, but rather the gift of time and togetherness.
