1) Good Morning everybody.

My name is Arjun and today I would like to speak on the topic Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day marks the celebration of affection and thankfulness for mothers all over the globe. Mother’s Day is said to have originated in European countries mainly UK, Greece and Rome. It usually falls in the months of March, April or May. Anna Jarvis is known as the founder of this day.

The day as we celebrate today falls on the second Sunday of May every year. On this occasion, people especially children give gifts, cards, chocolates and flowers to their mothers to show their love and gratitude towards them. It is important to celebrate it as one gets a chance to make the mothers special and important on this day.

Thank you!   [Key]

2) Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, we are gathered here to celebrate a very special day - Mother's Day. This day is dedicated to expressing our affection and gratitude for the most important women in our lives - our mothers. As we all know, mothers play an invaluable role in our lives, and it is only fitting that we take a day to honor and appreciate them.

The tradition of Mother's Day is not a recent phenomenon. It has deep roots in history and has been celebrated in various forms across different cultures. In fact, the concept of honoring mothers can be traced back to ancient civilizations like Greece and Rome. These ancient societies would organize festivals to pay tribute to their maternal deities, and show gratitude for the countless sacrifices made by mothers.

Fast forward to modern times, Mother's Day has become a global celebration in many countries, thanks to the efforts of a remarkable woman named Anna Jarvis. Anna Jarvis, an American social activist, is often referred to as the "Mother of Mother's Day". She campaigned tirelessly to establish a day dedicated solely to mothers. Her relentless efforts paid off, and in 1914, Mother's Day was officially recognized as a national holiday in the United States.

People all over the world celebrate Mother's Day in their own unique ways. Some choose to give gifts, cards, chocolates, or flowers to their mothers as a token of their love and appreciation. Others organize special meals or outings to create lasting memories. No matter how we choose to celebrate, the essence of this day remains the same - expressing gratitude and making our mothers feel special and important.

But why is Mother's Day so important? Why do we set aside an entire day to celebrate our mothers? Well, the answer is simple. Mothers are the epitome of love, sacrifice, and selflessness. They devote their entire lives to us, nurturing, guiding, and loving us unconditionally. They are the ones who put our needs before their own and make countless sacrifices to ensure our happiness and well-being. Mother's Day is a chance for us to acknowledge these efforts and honor the incredible women who have shaped our lives.

Today, let us take a moment to reflect on the love, support, and guidance our mothers have provided us with. Let us express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all the sacrifices they have made. Whether it's through a simple "Thank you" or a heartfelt gift, let us make every effort to make our mothers feel cherished and loved.

In conclusion, Mother's Day is a beautiful occasion that enables us to express our affection and gratitude for the remarkable women in our lives. It is a day to honor the unconditional love and sacrifices of our mothers. So, on this special day, I urge each one of you to take the time to appreciate and celebrate your mother. Let us show them how much they mean to us, not just today, but every day of the year.

Thank you.

3) Ladies and Gentlemen, Today, we have gathered here to celebrate Mother’s Day, a day dedicated to showing our affection and gratitude for the most important person in our lives – our mothers.

Mother’s Day is celebrated in various countries around the world, usually in March, April, or May, with the modern-day Mother’s Day being celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This day allows us to express our love and appreciation for our mothers, who have sacrificed so much for us and have been our pillars of strength throughout our lives. The concept of Mother’s Day can be traced back to ancient times in Europe, with the Greeks and Romans celebrating maternal goddesses. In the United Kingdom, Mothering Sunday was observed as a day for children to visit their mothers and bring them gifts.

However, it was Anna Jarvis, an American activist, who popularized the modern-day Mother’s Day in the early 20th century. She campaigned for the day to be a national holiday in honor of her own mother, who had worked tirelessly to improve sanitation during the Civil War. On Mother’s Day, people show their love and appreciation for their mothers by giving them gifts, cards, chocolates, and flowers. These simple gestures allow us to express our gratitude and make our mothers feel special and important. It is a day for us to pamper and shower our mothers with the love and care that they have always given to us selflessly.

Mother’s Day is important because it gives us an opportunity to recognize the love, sacrifices, and dedication of our mothers. It is a day for us to express our gratitude for everything they have done for us and to make them feel appreciated and cherished. It is a day to reflect on the incredible role that mothers play in our lives and to honor them for their unwavering support and love.

In conclusion, Mother’s Day is a time for us to celebrate and cherish our mothers and all that they have done for us. It is a day to express our love and gratitude and to make our mothers feel truly special. So, let us all take this opportunity to thank our mothers and show them just how much they mean to us. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there! Thank you for everything.

4) Ladies and gentlemen, Good morning/afternoon/evening! Today, we are gathered here to celebrate a very special day - Mother's Day. It is a day dedicated to expressing our affection and gratitude towards our mothers, who hold a special place in our hearts and in our lives. Mother's Day is usually celebrated in the months of March, April, or May. However, in modern times, it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. This day originated in Europe, primarily in...  (same as above)

5) "Mothers hold their children's hand for a short while, but their hearts forever."

Ladies and gentlemen,  esteemed teachers and fellow students. I stand before you today with great honor to talk about a day that holds a special place in our hearts – Mother’s Day. My name is edurev, and I am here to shed some light on the significance of this wonderful celebration.

Mother's Day is a day dedicated to showing affection and gratitude to the incredible women who brought us into this world, our mothers. It is typically celebrated in the months of March, April or May, with modern Mother’s Day falling on the second Sunday of May.

The roots of this beautiful tradition can be traced back to Europe, including the UK, Greece and Rome. However, it was Anna Jarvis who popularized the modern-day Mother’s Day as we know it today. People celebrate this day by giving gifts, cards, chocolates and flowers to their mothers, a simple yet profound gesture to express their love and gratitude.

But why is Mother's Day so important? It is a day when we can make our mothers feel special and appreciated for the endless love and sacrifices they have made for us. It's a day to remind them of the unique place they hold in our hearts, a day to honor the unsung heroes who shape our lives with their boundless affection and care.

So, let's not wait for Mothers Day to show our appreciation, but everyday, let's acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary women who brought us into this world. After all, they are the one's who make our world a better place.

Thank you.

 Q. UGC has introduced Common University Entrance Test (CUET) from this year (2022) for admission to Undergraduate Programmes. Express your views on the introduction of CUET in the form of an article in 120-150 words. You are Anjali/Arjun.

INTRODUCTION OF CUET
By: Arjun

Change is the law of nature. With the passage of time, innovations are constantly taking place in each and every field of the society. And the introduction of CUET is the recent dimension in the field of education. It is modified version of CUCET, began in 2010. It is introduced by the Ministry of Education for admission to pursue undergraduate and post graduate courses in reputed colleges and universities.

To start with, there are so many benefits of CUET. It is now considered as a common platform for admission to central universities. To say is, it is accepted by various universities across the country. It allows the meritorious students to take admission to the course and college or university of their choice or preference. Besides, giving an opportunity to meritorious students, it provides an equal opportunity to all the students to prove their abilities and secure a seat to their desired university based on their exam scores. This also led to the dependency on board exams. It has reduced the burden and stress of students of other multiple entrance examinations too and suicide cases among students.

Moreover, It has smoothened the admission process with one exam and website in various programs and universities. CUET has helped overhaul the entire admissions process for UG and PG admission to central, state, and private universities. It has streamlined the admission process with just one exam and one website for admission to many universities and programs. Ranks, marks and percentiles are shown with transperancy. It also provides the standardized evaluation system, ensuring a fair and logical assessment of student's academic abilities. By conducting nationwide exam, CUET opens doors for students from diverse backgrounds and regions, and provide a pool of talented individuals to universities.

Overall, It is now considered as the crucial part of one’s academic journey.

CUET
By: Anjali

As a student preparing for undergraduate admissions, I believe that the introduction of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) by the University Grants Commission (UGC) is a welcome move. CUET will streamline the admission process, reducing the burden on students who previously had to appear for multiple entrance exams.

This standardized test will ensure a fair and transparent selection process based on merit, rather than relying solely on board exam scores. It will also provide an equal opportunity for all students, regardless of their background or the board they have studied under.

CUET will not only simplify the admission process but also help in assessing a student's aptitude and knowledge in a uniform manner. This will ultimately benefit the students by enabling them to secure admissions to universities based on their overall performance rather than just their board exam scores.

In conclusion, the introduction of CUET is a step in the right direction towards creating a more inclusive and merit-based admission system for undergraduate programmes.

The benefits for students of being taken out of the classroom are manifold. (School trips and visits are significant to us in many ways.) It brings a cheerful smile on their faces. They discuss on various issues among themselves such as news, sports & games, TV programmes, academics etc. It provides practicality to their classroom teaching.  Going out on tours and trips, students inculcate various qualities in themselves such as team work, cooperation, adapting in changing environment, problem solving skills etc.  Some of the places of trips and tours are educational, which are useful for career in future. Joys and hardships of summer season

 Q. Using verbal hints given below about 'SUMMER SEASON'. Write an article in 120-150 words on the topic, "JOYS AND HARDSHIPS OF SUMMER". [Class IX study material 2019-20]

Heat strocks— cold drinks and shakes— Heavy perspiration— Ice cream— Vacations— Water parks— Need of A.C. and coolers— Heat & Humidity.

JOYS AND HARDSHIPS OF SUMMER SEASON
— By: Mohan

Change is the law of nature. Passing through a particular weather pattern in India, summer season is the hottest of all seasons. The summer starts from the may and continues till September. However, it is mainly of two months duration. Like every season, summer season has its own joys and hardships.

School children eagerly wait for the summers due to their Vacations of long span. For them, it is a time of enjoyment and fun with friends and families. People plan their trips to water spots such as beaches, water parks, falls, etc which is the main source of entertainment during summer season that makes them relax and they get a break from their monotonous life. During summers, weekends are like fresh breeze for us.

During summers, coolers and A.C. become a necessity for the people, which makes their environment cool and people love to enjoy such an artificial climate. They love to have cold etables and drinks such as ice creams, cold drinks, shakes etc. which makes them fresh, relax and feel heatless for a moment. Everyone enjoy such a pleasant moments during summers.

But every coin has two sides. During summers, the sun rays fall directly on the earth's surface, which makes the entire earth boiling. The sun gets very hot during the day and such heat strokes or scorching heat becomes very troublesome for us. People cannot come out of their homes and children cannot enjoy outside. They have to be in a cage. Childrens use electronic gadgets at home to freshen up, which has an adverse effect on them. Most of work remain suspended. Moreover, they do not feel energetic and a sort of dullness comes (appears) on them. In other words, summer causes many inconvenience as the hot winds cause much thirst and people cannot get water and as a result it causes drought in few parts of a country. Rivers and ponds dry up causing scarcity of water. Similarly, flora and fauna suffers too. Many die as a result of such sun stroke. People also get affected by many fatal diseases such as cholera, small pox etc. in the summer season. Such sort of problems can also be arises due to unbalanced ecosystem, use of heavy vehicles etc. as these create humidity and affects our cycle causing this season so hot.

So, we should come forward to protect our environment which in returns protects global warming and ourselves.

Helmets should be made compulsory for the riders of scooters and motorcycles

 Q. Write a speech on the topic, Helmets should be compulsory for riders of scooters and motorcycles.

prevents injury - heavy traffic - uncomfortable - not cool - compulsory abroad, India - not compulsory - adopt it ourselves - to keep us safe -safety more important than being fashionable - light helmets for cycles needed.

Respected Principal, Worthy Teachers and My Dear Friends. Today I am here to speak on the topic helmets should be made compulsory for riders of scooters and motorcycles.

Roads have become unsafe in recent times. With the burgeoning population, (Thousands of new vehicles hit the road every day) the  number of two wheelers such as scooters, motorcycles, activa are increasing on the roads with each passing day. As a result casualties with scooters and motorcycles are on the rise. In order to protect ourselves from these casualties, it is imperative for the traffic department (govt.) to make helmets compulsory for the riders of two wheelers. It is the primary way to prevent injuries of head and brain.

Besides preventing injuries, It is the part of rules of road. It ensures better control of the vehicle too. Wearing helmets makes the people caring and responsible towards themselves and the others.  People can protect themselves from the Challan or fines decided by the government for those who don't wear it. It is a sign that one is protecting himself from every unpredictable risk on the road. What's more, it is considered as an effective tool to save ourselves from loo, rains, cold and changing climate in the country.

Neglectful attitude of traffic police, bribery, over speeding are some of the factors responsible for the sorry state of affairs. Helmets should be made compulsory for everyone irrespective of age or gender.  Using the helmet makes a man displined and respectful towards the rules of the road. Even light helmets for cycles are needed.

Wearing a helmet is compulsory in abroad. It should be made compulsory for everyone in India also. As it is the question of our safety and the safety of all those who are using the road. We should adopt it ourselves cheerfully. It is the need of the hour is that the traffic police department (government) should take some stringent steps against the culprits. Laws should be amended and conveyed to the public. Awareness should be spread regarding the importance of wearing helmets. After all safety is more important than being fashionable.

Thank you.

Are tuitions essential for success in schools ?

 Q. Tuitions have become a craze these days. Students, even small children are seen going to tutor; even for homework. You are to deliver a speech in the morning assembly of your school on the topic "Are tuitions essential for success in school?" Write the speech in about 120 words.   [Class VII BBC COMPACTA]

Respected principal, My worthy teachers and dear friends. A very good morning to all of you. Today I am here to express my views on "Are tuitions essential for success in school".

Well, studying from another sources rather than schools like tuitions and various other educational institutions deliver many positive points for the success in school. Mainly it is because of hectic lifestyle, both parents are working and they can't divote their time or help their children in studies and tutions is the only solution. (The benefits conferred by tuitions are so numerous and wonderful that they are felt in every stage or at every step of education.)

In today's competitive environment, Tutions play an indispensable role in achieving the success in school. (In today's competitive environment, tuitions have assumed to be a necessity to achieve success in schools because it has become a major part of examinations preparation.) Tuitions are essential to cope with today's competitive environment. (with cut- throat (very tough, strong) competition prevails among students.) With the passage of time, education system goes under a vast change. Many new concepts have been discovered and new subjects have been added in the school's curriculum which is far from the parent's reach and understanding. Moreover, school teachers are not very well versed with the new concepts and subjects. So, they cannot teach well in class.

Besides, Students consider their school teachers as inefficient. Some students are inattentive in the class or sometimes they have to take leave (they are absent from school due to any reason.) from the school, the topics they missed are covered in tuitions. In schools, emphasis should be given on concept clarity. There is no time left for practice and clear the doubts of the students. So, students take or attend tuitions for practise and clear their doubts.

Contrary to this, it is not necessary that tuition ensures success in schools rather it creates unnecessary burden among school going children resulting in various psychological problems such as tension, depression and anxiety. Just because your favourite teacher gives tuition doesn't mean you always need to attend it. Furthermore, tuitions are an unnecessary expenditure for most of the parents. They are of the opinion that their students do not need any extra tuitions for the same concepts and assignments when teacher in school cover each and every topic in a clear and precise manner/way. Besides, there is no time left with the students for their recreational activities.

Indeed, tuitions are very helpful in assuring success in schools. It is continuously growing in every nook and corner of the city. Hence, we can say that tuition is a new dimension in the field of education which is very useful to students in order to achieve success in schools.

Thank you.

Importance of internet speech

Q. Taking ideas from the hints given below, write a speech in about 120 words for your school assembly on the topic: "Importance of Internet in Daily Life"

• useful for locating information
• like a library - read through internet
• information on everything
• helps keep in touch with distant friends or relatives
• should be used under parent's supervision [Class VII BBC COMPACTA]

"We are all now connected by the internet, like neurons in a giant brain."

Good morning everyone. Today I am here to share my views on the importance of internet in daily life.

We live in a time and age where information is just a button press away. Internet contains the information on everything which helps people to get information on everything required by them. Internet is now the biggest game changer of 21st century. It is a whole universe in its own.

With the advancement of science and technology, Internet now has accessible to almost each and every human being of the world. Life without it is now unimaginable. Predominantly, Internet is now the biggest source of communication among people of the nation. It has facilitated communication even from abroad. Facebook, watsapp Instagram, and other social media help us to keep in touch with distant friends and relatives over the internet.

Internet is now being use by the people of different ages for various purposes. For majority of people, it has become the major source of entertainment. They watch movies, TV shows, listen music, play games, watch news etc. For students, Internet has become a very useful tool for learning their academic portion. It is like a library for them which allows the students to read and learn through internet. It is beneficial in locating information on everything for everyone. Businessmen uses it for their business dealings. They conduct online meetings over the internet using video conferencing.

Moreover, the other main sphere where internet has helped us greatly is the payments of various bills whether it a electricity bill, water bill or shopping bill. Paytm, UPI, Google pay have made our transactions easy and allow us to manage banking transactions (avail banking services) without visiting the bank branch.

As such it can be concluded that in the era and age of technology and globalisation, internet has become an indispensable part of our lives. However, it should be used under parent's supervision. Thus, we should use the internet carefully and judiciously. It is very helpful but may prove to be equally harmful.

Thank you.

With the internet, we have a vast sea of information at our fingertips.

Impact of technology on social life.

 Q. Technology has made the lite of man easier and more comfortable but is also the main cause of physical and moral degradation. Taking ideas from My English Reader Unit- 'The Future World' and using the hints given below, write a speech to be delivered in your school assembly on the topie "Impact of Technology on Social Life" within 100-150 words.

Hints:
• Has made life easier but more complicated
• Developed communication devices but decreased personal relations
• More prone to video games and mobile
• Decrease in physical activities
• Developed in the field of medicine but increase in the number of diseases
• More friends on social network sites but no true relationships
• Technology making children more aggressive  [davunit8, Annual Exam, 2018-19, class VII]

Resected Principal, worthy teachers and my dear friends.

Good morning !

No doubt, science and technology are progressing by leaps and bounds. Technology plays a very dominant role in the society. It is spreading its tentacles in every field. There is a drastic change in each & every field due to rapid advancement in technology. Technology has impacted our social life to a great extent with both positive and negative consequences.

It has made a remarkable progress in the field of communication. Social media sites such as Factbook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc has facilitated the communication to the distant places even overseas over the Internet. It has made easier for people to connect and communicate with each other irrespective of geographical area. However, personal relations among them has decreased. More and more new or old friends are being connected with us, having false relationship. It has totally revolutionized human existence.

It is not just in communication that technology has impacted us. With the invention of mobile phones, children are becoming more prone to or addicted to it. Video games are the main attraction for the children, that has an adverse effect on their health and academics. As a result of it, there is a significant decline in their physical activities. They are turning aggressive by nature. What's more, technology has proved its development in the field of medicines. It has invented the drugs of various diseases or illnesses which was incurable earlier. However, due to excessive use of technology people are becoming couch potatoes and obesity is the main cause of concern in the society. When all the time is Spent sitting, then obviously there is lack of physical and mental growth due to no physical activity along with various other diseases. Also, Moral Values are vanishing from the society day by day.

Thus, technology has both positive and negative impact on our lives. We need to chennalise our focus on positive effects and need to constantly coping with negative effects generating by it.

Thank you.

CLEANLINESS AT HOME OR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

- by: Lalit

It is a matter of concern that our neighborhoods are full of dirt and garbage (rubbish) that it stinks the whole environment of the locality. Wrappers, paper, polythene bags, household waste are scattered on the roads and along our houses. The city also is be becoming dirty with each passing day. It has become a hazard.

'Cleanliness is next to godliness'. Cleanliness to put it simply, means the state of being clean or keeping things clean. Cleanliness at home or in the neighborhood is very important for our overall well being. Keeping homes and neighbourhood clean stops the spread of germs, which keeps us healthy. Regular cleaning of carpets, kitchen and bathroom will kill germs thereby reducing the possibilities of getting sick. This also prevents us from being exposed to bacteria and allergies and other breathing problems. It minimizes the entry of rats, cockroaches, ants and other insects in our surrondings. It is considered as an essential quality required to live a healthy life. It improves the quality of indoor air at our surroundings.

Moreover, cleanliness changes the look of our surroundings. A neat and clean (spic and span) home or a neighborhood is attractive to all. Regular cleaning of home is very helpful in keeping us organised. Cleanliness creates the goodwill of the residents residing at home or in the neighborhood. It gives happiness and spreads joy in the family and in the neighborhood.

We need to ensure cleanliness at homes and in the neighborhood. We should follow the 3Rs of the waste management i.e reduce, reuse and recycle. People should be made aware of the harmful effects of garbage. They should be teach environmental friendly methods of disposing waste. These steps will certainly help in maintaining cleanliness in vicinity (near area). It is the duty of each and every one to keep his home and neighborhood neat and clean.

Now a days, Keeping the surroundings clean has become a big issue. We keep our homes neat and clean then why not public places. We only remember to clean our homes but why we don't remember to clean our country, which is our main home. People makes the public places dirty in many ways which includes not using dustbins, spitting anywhere on roads, throwing papers, plastic, wrappers on roads. Burning of wastes releases harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide which affects our environment. It is the need of the hour to clean our surroundings not only our homes but also the places use by us. Various (Several) measures should be taken to promote cleanliness in public places. Clean India, healthy India.

 Q. Our streets are littered with paper bags, empty cans, fruit peelings and so many other used throwaways. Not only do our cities look unclean but lack of cleanliness can even lead to an outbreak of an epidemic. Write a speech in 100-150 words on ‘Clean India, Healthy India’, which you have to deliver in the morning assembly.

Respected principal, My worthy teachers and dear friends.

It is a matter of concern that despite an initiative of cleanliness taken by our prime minister, our streets are still littered with (filth and garbage, our public toilets stink, we use public walls as urinals and spittoons. Then we blame the government for mosquitoes, stench and epidemics.) full of garbage such as paper bags, empty cans, household wastes, poly bags etc without bothering to people. Today people are generating tons of waste everyday which is making the country dirty.

Is clean India really a healthy India ? Is there any relation between cleanliness and health ? Cleanliness is an indictior of sound health of natives of a country and so with India. Cleanliness in itself mean the absence of waste, dirt and germs. This makes India healthy. Cleanliness is considered as the first step towards healthy lifestyle. There are no illnesses in the state of cleanliness. People are less likely to get sick. They can keep various diseases such as malaria, dengue, chickengunya, asthma etc. at bay.

What's more, clean India produces no pollution, which gives fresh air to inhale to its citizens. They also get water fit for drinking. Cleanliness helps in the overall well being of individual, society and country. It spreads optimism attitude among people. It helps to relieves their stress, tensions and anxiety.  Cleanliness gives a pleasent look to India, which attracts foreign tourists to India, which inturn generates revenue for the Government.

It is the need of the hour that people should take some effective steps to make its environment clean. They should follow the 3R's i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle strategy of waste management. Besides this, afforestation should be encouraged among people to make India clean and healthy.

So Let's make the India clean, Let's make the India healthy.

Thank you.
