Cue Card-32
Food you ate for the first time
• When you had it? // Where you ate it? // What it was? // How you felt about it?
The kind of food I ate for the first time was three years ago. // It was my father’s friend’s house in Mumbai. // The food I ate was South Indian, Idli, Sambhar and Dosa. // I did not really like it.
I am a very enterprising person who likes to try new things. I am a food lover and Punjabi food is my favourite. I went to my father’s friend house about three years ago in Mumbai and ate South Indian food. I had never eaten these dishes earlier and was trying them for the first time. I ate idli, sambhar and dosa. It was made by their cook who had been there with them for nine or ten years. I did not like it much at that time because I think, I did not have a taste for it. However, later when my mother made it at home and I tried it in Punjab in a few restaurants, I started liking it. Though I still cannot eat it frequently but occasionally. I like to change my monotonous taste. I have had the chance to try other cuisines like Chinese and Thai but none is as good as the Punjabi cuisines.
